Hi I’m Dylan
If you are reading this, you're probably thinking: “Who the fuck is this guy?”
But honestly, that’s a kind of question to chat about over a cracked-open bottle of red wine... I'm still working on it.
Here's the short version:
I’ve been a Marketing Copywriter for just over two years now and have come to this position through one specific thing... Mistakes!
...
from writing cheesy, clickbait headlines that did not convert like I expected.
...biting off more than I could chew on projects I couldn’t handle because I didn't know the difference between being a good copywriter and being a good direct response marketer.
...
To not only have my understanding of how to ascend customers up a funnel, but my writing skills analyzed too by mentors...
But here's the thing:
I’m more than happy for every single bump along the way because they’re badges of honor. Battle scars, if you will, ones that now enable me to take business from rags to riches... (just kidding, kinda)
So you name it, I've most likely done it, flipped it upside down, and tried another way— then finally realized how to get the wheels turning.
Meaning, It's safe to say that I'm far from an overnight success. Here’s a harsh reality check I came face to face with:
Being a copywriter in 2024 is like wearing a full knight suit and bursting into battle against thunder and lighting…
It’s an asset that is being slowly eroded away, bloody ChatGPT can write better product descriptions, sales pages, and, of course, emails than 90% of so-called "copywriters".
But understanding business economics is where the gold truly lies because it's here where you can begin to maximize profit margins by making tweaks in your funnel.
Maybe you’ll get a 12% boost in conversions but having a “glaze-proof funnel structure” can make you a heck of a lot more profitable in the long run.
I started as just a copywriter, and this was my biggest weakness for helping businesses get actual results. After staring into the Abyss many times and thinking "What the hell is going on" I stated seeing pieces of the puzzle begin to take shape.
The false dreams that I was sold of being a successful"copywriter" died and awoken a new world of advertising...
And this applies across nearly all markets...
Yes, different markets have different needs/ pains.
And yes, they have different wants and desires.
But fundamentally, they're still run by humans, and humans operate on psychology, influence, and persuasion.
That's why having a macros perspective is an advantage among a sea of amateurs because you know what piece of the puzzle to move where to get a certain result.
Now understand something - by no means am I claiming to be the GOAT in copywriting because I prefer to be a student who's constantly learning and innovating.
But if I may, I have learned a thing or two about how to make businesses a lot of money.
So if you want to squeeze the lemon out of your business and take a path less traveled then contact me and we'll make that happen.
Until that time my friend, I'll be sitting right here, in a coffee shop, typing away on this Mac while listening to some reggaeton music enjoying the heck out fo this shit!
